Just after 1:11 am on Sunday 11/3/24 LOFSVFF was dispatched to the 12400 block of Brookside Dr for a reported Structure Fire. Due to multiple reporting calls while in route, crews upgraded the alarm bringing in multiple mutual aid agencies.
Upon the arrival of Engine Crew 3511, the residence had heavy fire showing from the exterior and through the roof threatening an adjacent residence. Defensive operations began immediately upon the arrival of Engine 3511. Units 3501, 3502, 3511, 3522, and 3545 responded to the scene.
We would like to thank Hebron Volunteer Fire Department, Crown Point Fire Rescue, Merrillville Fire Department, Union Volunteer Fire Department, Kouts Fire Department, Porter County Investigation Team, and Lake Hills Fire Department Air Trailer for responding to the scene. We would also like to thank NW Health EMS and Cedar Lake Fire for providing station coverage while crews worked on scene. A special thanks to Lake County 911 for getting all the assisting agencies to the scene.
There were no reported injuries to the homeowners or any emergency personnel working on scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
