LOFS Fire Hosts Chief Nick Martin for Training

On Saturday, November 23rd, LOFSVFF hosted a multi-agency training, presented by Combat Ready Fire called ‘First Alarm Strategy and Tactics’.  This course was instructed by Chief Nick Martin, a 30 year fire service veteran and founder of Combat Ready Fire.  In attendance were over 65 students representing 12 different local departments.  This provided everyone a great opportunity to learn together with many of our mutual aid partners in attendance.

The focus of this program is to help company officers develop and hone a methodical process for making the right critical decisions during the “first SCBA cylinder” worth of firefighting in single-family, multi-family/apartment, commercial, and mid/high rise structures. Using common fire scenarios, we practice which engine/truck company tactics are most effective and applicable to each scenario and why.

We are able to host this training with the assistance Pastor Danny Cox and LifeWell: a christian church, who graciously allowed us to use their newly built addition for the training.  A special thank you to Pastor Danny and the LifeWell staff for allowing us the use of their facility.

If you live in our service area and would like to serve with us, please apply at lofsfire.com/join.  The next academy class starts in January!
