LOFS Fire Responds to Structure Fire

3/8/2025 – Reported Structure Fire- Lakes of the Four Seasons; West Porter Township Fire Protection District
1100 Block of Sunnyslope DR

LOFSVFF was dispatched at 4:53 pm for the report of a Structure Fire. 3502, 3522, 3511, 3544, 3545, and 3561 responded with Auto-Aid from Hebron Volunteer Fire Department & Union Volunteer Fire Department. Due to updated information while in route of heavy fire load the incident was upgraded to a first alarm and tanker plan 1 to bring in manpower and tenders to the scene. Upon arrival at 5:00 pm 3544 noted heavy fire conditions coming from the attached garage with noted extension into the residence. 3544’s crew arrived and began an immediate offensive fire attack and began to protect exposures. During overhaul members from Union Vol. Fire Department was able to locate a missing kitten and brought it out safely. There were no reported injuries to the residents or any firefighters working on scene. The cause remains under investigation at this time. We would like to Thank Union Volunteer Fire Department, Crown Point Fire Department, Lowell Indiana Fire Department, Lake Dalecarlia Fire Department, Merrillville Fire Department, Boone Grove Fire, Kouts Fire Department, Hobart Fire Department, Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department, South Haven Fire Department, Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department , and Keener Twp. Vol Fire Dept for providing tenders and manpower to the scene. We would like to thank Porter County Fire Investigation Team for Responding to assist with the investigation. We would also like to Thank NW Health EMS for providing standby coverage for our area while our crews were working the incident.
